Because
Jesus said, “Go and
make disciples of all the nations,” we are committed to our
community and the world. We support over 100 world missionaries,
home missionaries, agencies, colleges, and seminaries. We strive
to be “doers of the Word, and not hearers only.” Our
goal is to equip our members to express their faith in service to
others in Macon, the state of Georgia, America, and the world.
Our annual World and Home Missions
Conferences offer opportunities to meet and talk with many dedicated
missionaries who are doing God’s work around the world. Our
World Missions Conference is held in February of each year.
FAITH: My trusting God
to enable me to give more than I thought I could give, and at
the same time to meet my needs.
PROMISE:
The basis of trusting God because He promised to supply all my needs.
Q. How
Are Missionaries Supported?
All missionaries must raise prayer and financial support
from various congregations and individuals before they are ready
to leave for or return to their ministry place of service.
Q. How
Can I Support Our Missionaries?
Through our Faith Promise giving! This is the way First Presbyterian Church
of Macon provides financial support for our missionary families who are under
the oversight of our Mission to the World Committee.
You can PRAY for our missionaries.
Pick up a "Missionary Prayer Reminder" Booklet at the
Mission table in the Information Center.
Q. What
is A Faith Promise?
A Faith Promise for missions is an amount of money or goods
that you are willing to promise to give to missions, both at home
and around the world, in faith that God will provide. It is over
and above the tithe. At the time you make the Faith Promise, the
source of the amount you promise may be unknown to you. A Faith
Promise is not a pledge. The church will not call upon you for it.
This promise is understood to be in addition to all other commitments
to First Presbyterian Church.
Q.
How Do I Give Money to Missions?
Your check may be given by itself, in a regular church envelope,
or placed in a plain envelope, either of which should be marked "Missions" or "Faith
Promise."
