In the aftermath of Harvey in Texas and Irma in the South East, MNA Disaster Response is in contact with local PCA leadership to begin the process of assessing damages and preparing for the future. The needs presented by these catastrophic events are massive. To read the latest information on needs and relief efforts please click here.

There is still a big need for volunteers in the Houston area. Read why and how you can make a difference, here.

There are several things we, as a church, can do NOW:

  • Pray: Please pray for relief from the storm and for those being rescued and affected by this storm.
  • Give generously. Please consider giving to this relief effort! Funds given through MNA will be used for assessment, mobilization, relief grants for flooded PCA families and churches, to purchase needed supplies and equipment, and to setup and operate flood recovery sites.
    • Total funds collected by our church since Hurricane Harvey and Irma: $37,654.00
The amount raised by our church will be matched by a local party, which offered a challenge grant last month, and will benefit the PCA Disaster Relief fund. Thank you everyone for your generosity! (The Disaster Relief Challenge Grant concluded on October 31.)
    • Monetary gifts may be given by check or credit card:
      • For online credit card donations, please click here
      • For checks, please make check out to “FPC” and write “MNA Relief Fund” in the memo line. Then:
        1. Place checks in the Sunday offering plate
        2. Or mail checks directly to FPC
  • Relief Kits: There are three different types of relief kits: (click the links below to learn more about each type of kit and how to assemble one.) Flood BucketsBedding Kits, and Hygiene Kits
    • FPC will collect completed kits in the Brickyard through Sunday, September 30th. Please leave completed kits in the designated crate in the Brickyard or bring them to the church office during weekday office hours. • Volunteer to Serve:
    • Serve in Texas & Florida Now:
      1. MNA Disaster Response Teams: If you would like to form your own team with coworkers or friends, learn more about the process below:
        • Pre-register your intent to serve by clicking here. Teams must be self-contained, not depending on the local church for hosting. Day trippers from the surrounding presbyteries can make the best impact. A longer term recovery effort is anticipated and in the planning stages. Check the MNA website for details as they develop. Because needs are being updated by the minute, please contact Sherry Lanier at slanier@pcanet.org or 678-294-3012 to find out how and when you can volunteer.

    • Serve with FPC in the Future: As relief efforts progress, FPC leadership will stay in contact with MNA Disaster Response and affected presbyteries to assess needs and organize teams to Go and help.
