The Macon National Day of Prayer Committee very much appreciates First Presbyterian Church for their wonderful support and great blessing to host the one Live Virtual Event for our May 6th, 2021 NDP Macon Observance!  While there were many ways to be part virtually, in partnership with First Presbyterian for Program Participants to be Live and WGNM TV to Broadcast and Live-Stream, this was God’s Plan for this 70th Anniversary Year for NDP.  The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer.  NDP was made the law of our land in 1952 under President Harry Truman and was unanimously passed by Congress in 1988 under President Ronald Reagan to be the first Thursday of every May.

This annual, national day started here in Macon in about the late 70’s by the godly founding fathers of Here’s Life, Macon who also started 2nd Wednesday Prayer for Government Officials.  One of those founding fathers and First Presbyterian member, Mr. Bob Cunningham, coined “It’s more than a day; it’s about a discipline!” and started a Macon Monthly Prayer Opportunity, uninterrupted all these years.  While his slogan upholds this annual, national day, it does motivate us to “pray on!”!  2nd Wed. Prayer is Noon-1PM, either in person at the Macon-Bibb Gov’t. Center (City Hall), Room 205 or by Free Conference Call.  IF you would like a 2nd Wed. Email Prayer Reminder sent BCC, please email MaconNDP@gmail.com

THE ACTION STEP COMING OUT OF THE MAY 6, 2021 NATIONAL OBSERVANCE IN WASHINGTON, DC IS TO START YOUR PERSONAL REVIVAL JOURNEY!  Go to OneCry.org to partner for taking the next 7 days to begin!  While PERSONAL REVIVAL is where the journey begins, a revived church can have tremendous impact on the community and be used by God to AFFECT THE ENTIRE NATION!

First Presbyterian has blessed for many years to host Macon NDP Events, with their support being outstanding!  The 2021 NDP Program to see, or to see again, is on www.NationalDayofPrayerMaconGA.org  So First Presbyterian will be continually blessing for a full year until 2022 NDP Program would be on!  Please mark your calendars for May 5, 2022 to be part of Macon’s NDP Observance!
